Ormond Beach voters will not have to wait until Nov. 3 to weigh in on the City Commission races. Early voting in Volusia County runs Oct. 19 through Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

  • The short version
  • Early voting runs Oct. 19–31, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, at eight sites countywide.
  • The closest site for most residents is the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.
  • Voters may use any early voting site in the county — and can drop off mail ballots at any of them.
  • Zone 2 and Zone 4 commission races headline the Nov. 3 ballot; Zone 3 was decided without a contest.

Where to Go

The closest site for most Ormond Beach residents is the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St. It is one of eight early voting sites countywide, and the others are in DeLand (two sites), DeBary, Deltona, Daytona Beach (two sites), Port Orange and New Smyrna Beach.

Voters are not tied to their home neighborhood. The Supervisor of Elections says voters may use any early voting site in the county. A new site this cycle is the Wayne G. Sanborn Center in DeLand.

A Correction to Earlier Guidance

An earlier Ormond Beach Buzz voter guide said the county calendar showed an Oct. 26 start and told readers to confirm the dates. The Supervisor of Elections' early voting page now lists Oct. 19 to 31, and that is the schedule voters should follow.

What Ormond Beach Voters Will Decide

Two City Commission races are on the Nov. 3 ballot. In Zone 2, incumbent Travis Sargent faces challenger Jennifer Bright. In Zone 4, incumbent Harold Briley faces challenger Amber Bobak. Zone 3 incumbent Kristin Deaton was automatically reelected after her challenger withdrew, so that seat will not appear as a contest.

Ballots will also include statewide, congressional, county and local contests, which vary by address. Voters can look up their own ballot through the Supervisor of Elections.

Vote-by-Mail Option

Voters who prefer to hand in a mail ballot can do so at any early voting site. The Supervisor of Elections says a secure ballot intake station is available at every site during early voting hours.

Need help? The Supervisor of Elections office can be reached at 386-736-5930. Ormond Beach Buzz will continue covering the Zone 2 and Zone 4 races through Nov. 3.
