Ormond Beach voters have two City Commission races to decide on Nov. 3, along with county, state and federal contests. This guide pulls everything in one place, with links to our full coverage.

  • The short version
  • Zone 2: incumbent Travis Sargent faces challenger Jennifer Bright.
  • Zone 4: incumbent Harold Briley faces challenger Amber Bobak after a primary decided by fewer than 70 votes.
  • Early voting runs Oct. 19–31, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, at the Ormond Beach Regional Library and sites countywide.
  • Mail ballots must reach the Supervisor of Elections office in DeLand by 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 — they cannot be dropped at Election Day polling places.

The Ormond Beach City Commission Races

Zone 2: Travis Sargent (incumbent) and Jennifer Bright. Sargent is a Marine Corps veteran who has worked in insurance for more than 20 years and has served on the commission since 2022. He lists public safety, city technology and addressing Zone 2 flooding among his priorities. Bright is a retired financial data analyst who moved to Ormond Beach in 2021 and says the commission should pay more attention to existing residents and infrastructure. This is her first run for office.

Zone 4: Harold Briley (incumbent) and Amber Bobak. The two finished within fewer than 70 votes of each other in the August primary. Briley is a real estate agent and longtime Planning Board member who says his record has held growth in check. Bobak is a Planning Board member who entered public life by appealing a proposed gas station near her home, and she emphasizes traffic, development pressure and environmental protection.

Already decided: Zone 3 incumbent Kristin Deaton was reelected automatically after her challenger withdrew. Lori Tolland (mayor) and Melissa DeVriese (Zone 1) won outright in August.
